Privacy Policy
How we handle your data — plainly stated, for visitors and clients worldwide.
1. What we collect
We collect the information you give us directly: your name, company, email address and project notes when you request a quote or contact us, and the contents of your quote basket (stored locally in your browser). We also collect standard technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages visited for security and analytics.
2. How we use it
We use your information to respond to enquiries, prepare quotes and proposals, deliver services, send invoices, and — only with your consent — occasional updates about our services. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
3. Legal bases and international transfers
We process data to perform a contract or take steps at your request, to meet legal obligations, and for our legitimate interest in running and securing our business. As we serve clients internationally, data may be processed in countries other than yours; we use contractual safeguards for such transfers where required.
4. Retention
We keep enquiry and project records for up to 7 years to meet accounting and legal obligations, then delete or anonymise them. Quote baskets stored in your browser can be cleared at any time via your browser settings.
5. Your rights (including US state laws)
Depending on where you live — including under US state privacy laws such as the CCPA/CPRA — you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of data (we do not sell or share data in this sense). To exercise any right, email hello@northlanedata.com; we respond within 30 days.
6. Security
We apply industry-standard technical and organisational measures, including encrypted transport, access controls and least-privilege access to client data. No method of transmission is 100% secure; if a breach affects your data we will notify you as required by law.
7. Children
Our services are directed at businesses and are not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes and contact
We may update this policy and will post the new version here with a revised date. Questions or requests: hello@northlanedata.com, +1 (555) 018-4420, or 14 Foundry Lane, Unit 3, Lusaka, Zambia. Last updated: October 2026.
